CONTEXT

From a historical perspective, the planet has been navigated on all seas via a great number of commercial routes.

Today, thanks to the advancement of innovation, knowledge and the deployment of new infrastructure, maritime trade corridors can be used to transport goods and people more efficiently. Each corridor has a history, commercial relations and technical and technological developments specific to it, among which we now find corridors that are much more advanced than others in terms of logistical and technological performance. Some of these maritime corridors are real highways and technological crossroads of international transportation routes.

The issues of business opportunities and economic development are for countries or regions that are among the most advanced on the chessboard international. The race for leadership has been underway for many years internationally the economic potential of this new market, and Canada can already position yourself with the IMC IC to participate very actively and take full advantage of it.

Intelligent Maritime Corridors (IMC):

For the Intelligent Maritime Corridors International Council (IMC IC)), a Intelligent Maritime Corridor (IMC) is a trade corridor where all operations are optimized by a digital architecture and a regulatory reference framework, familiar to all users. It promotes productive networks of actors – innovative and connected – who use new decision-making tools to coordinate, share information strategic solutions, and jointly develop new business solutions in favour of a digital transformation and an accelerated energy transition of the economy national and international maritime services. It encourages structural change to the effect that goods and people are loaded onto vessels of new maritime generation designed to be cleaner, more intelligent, more autonomous, and safer, more effective in the fight against climate change, and the protection of marine biodiversity and marine ecosystems.
